a-list star cameron diaz is the latest celebrity to imprint a star on the hollywood walk of fame.

the charlies angels star celebrated her new-found status with former co-stars lucy liu, tom cruise and katie holmes at the ceremony in front of the egyptian theatre on hollywood boulevard.

the actress thanked everybody by saying: “i want to thank everyone who has supported me over the last 15 years.”

she added: “it has been such a privilege to make films for you, to share in the laughter and in tears - it’s because of all of you that i can say i have the best job in the world.”

cameron dedicated the star to her parents “eternal” love, she added:

“the camaraderie, the collaboration, the relationships are what i do this for. i’ve always been aware that i’m a person blessed with good fortune, mostly with the people in my life.

“when people talk about a big star, what they may not realise is that no star stands alone. it is only one of many that exists in a universe. i come from a bright, beautiful universe of blaring stars.”

miley cyrus insists that she is not acting when she cried after getting the award for favorite female singer at the 2009 kinds’ choice awards.

“i was a little embarrassed,” miley told mtv news on wednesday. “but then again, i shouldn’t be. it meant something to me because it’s from the kids…..honestly, i didn’t think I was going to win it. it just made my day that i did. it means a lot to me.”

she adds, “the kids are more important than anything else in the world. so it made me happy.”

yeah right!  they can give her some blackberry plants and she will still cry!

late actor heath ledger’s golden globe trophy will go to his young daughter, matilda rose.

heath won the best supporting actor prize for his role as “the joker” in the  2008 the dark knight.

“i should imagine that eventually it will be going to matilda,” heath’s mom sally bell told people magazine in an interview from her home in perth, australia on monday.

“at this stage she is only so young, but down the track she will have all these things. It will belong to her because she is part of him.”

“it is such a fantastic and wonderful legacy for his daughter,” ms. bell added.

“matilda will have so many people who will be able to speak to her about her father’s abilities and [the] respect he had in the industry. that is such a wonderful legacy to leave.”

what a wonderful legacy indeed…
